Ayatollah Modarresi hails UN al-Quds resolution

Ayatollah Modarresi hails UN al-Quds resolution
Senior Iraqi cleric Ayatollah Sayyed Muhammad Taqi Modarresi asked Iraqi officials to support Kurdistan region without hesitation; he also hailed United Nations’ al-Quds resolution to condemn Trump’s recent decision to move Israel capital from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - In his weekly statement, Ayatollah Modarresi asserted, “We ask Iraqi officials to support our brothers in Iraqi Kurdistan region in order to solve issues between the central government and the Kurdish authorities. He also asked Iraqi government to carry out reforms to meet the needs of Kurdish citizens and to put an end to peaceful demonstrations in Iraqi Kurdistan. He urged the officials of the country to address these issues in a bid to control the situation and to preserve the national security of Iraq.

The Shia cleric went on, “I remind Iraqi Kurdistan officials that according to the constitution every Iraqi citizen is entitled to stage peaceful demonstrations in the country, he continued to remark that using military force against the protesters is totally unacceptable.

The Shia source of emulation hailed United Nations’ al-Quds resolution to condemn President Trump’s recent decision to move Israeli capital from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem saying, “This resolution is in line with United Nations’ protocols; we, as Muslims, must warn the international community about the threats and dangers of Zionists occupying Palestinian territories, we must warn the world that Israel is a threat to world peace.”

In the end, Ayatollah Sayyed Muhammad Taqi Modarresi reiterated that all people of the world must take a stance against the inhumane crimes that are being carried out in Yemen; he slammed world’s silence toward these vicious crimes against Yemeni citizens.

It must be noted that the countries that recently voted against the United States and Israel at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) represented more than 90 percent of the world’s population, signifying how heavily world opinion is balanced against Washington and Tel Aviv on the Palestinian issue.
