Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Coordinator general of COMSTECH, a ministerial committee comprising ministers of science and technology from 57 member countries of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), lauded Iran for its progress in scientific and technological fields.
“Iran is the leader of Muslim states in science and technology,” Ataur-Rahman said in a meeting with the deputies of Iranian science minister on Wednesday, Fars News Agency reported.
Noting that Iran has made noteworthy progress in the fields of science, technology and higher education, he said, “We aim to expand our cooperation with Iran in new technologies, aerospace as well as ocean and sea fields and also in the industrialization of these technologies.”
Ataur-Rahman also announced that COMSTECH is developing 30 research projects in the fields of agriculture, biotechnology, pharmaceutical production, information technology and telecommunication, sea and ocean technology as well as hygiene and materials in Muslim countries.
