Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), All the translations of the holy Quran rendered into Persian in the past thirty years will be collected, cultural deputy of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance told Quran News Agency.
Mohsen Parviz said they will then be evaluated by experts at the secretariat of the Book of the Year Award to select the best Persian translation of the Quran rendered after the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
He said the idea was welcomed at the secretariat. “But as there are few translations of the Quran published every year, we decided to choose the best translation in the past three decades.”
He added that if collecting and evaluating Quran translations can be achieved on time, the best translation will be selected at this year’s Book of the Year Award. “Otherwise, it will be done in the following year.”
Iran’s 28th Book of the Year Award is slated to be held in Bahman (February 2011).
