Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), The 5th edition of Hashimiya international Quran competition for women kicked off yesterday, July 22, in the Jordanian capital of Amman, Al-Ray daily reports.
Women from 30 countries are taking part in the contest organized by Jordan’s Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministry.
They compete in seven categories including memorization, tafseer (interpretation), and recitation, and those who rank first to fifth in each category will be awarded cash prizes of up to 85,000 Jordanian dinars.
The contest aims to encourage women to strengthen their relation with the Noble Quran and to prepare them for raising generations familiar with the teachings of the Holy Book.
The Hashimiya international Quran competition for women is being held at the Islamic-Cultural Center of Shahid Abdullah bin Hussein Mosque in Amman.
