Quran Recitation Contest Held in Uzbekistan

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The first edition of Quran recitation competition in Uzbekistan was held on October 10 at Imam Bukhari Islamic Institute in Tashkent.

Participants at male and female categories competed on Tarteel recitation of the Quran and Tajweed principles.

From among female participants, Aziza Rahim Awa and Naris Mohammad Sharif Awa won the first and the second ranks respectively and Ali Shir Noor Mohammadov and Ikhtiar Abdulrahmanov were the first and the second winners of the male category.

Sayyed Jamal Mohammad Sayyedov, deputy of the institute, appreciated the Quran reciters participated at the contest and noted that the second edition of the Quranic competition will be held on Quran memorization during next months.

He stated that the Islamic institute will provide all the facilities and requirements needed to hold a glorious competition.
