Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Ali Ghaziaskar who heads the Iranian Hajj mission addressed the conference. He stressed that Islamic proximity is an issue about which various conferences and forums have been held in different countries. “It shows that there is a consensus among Islamic schools of thought about the significance of proximity and that obeying God’s command ‘And hold fast to the rope of Allah and be not divided’(Quran 3:103) is the secret to Islam’s permanence in the world.
He said disunity and division would undermine Muslim’s dignity and allow the enemies to dominate Muslims.
Hojat-ol-Islam Ghaziaskar stressed that Muslims have a lot in common including their belief in God, the Noble Quran, Holy prophet (PBUH) and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS). “If Muslims focus on the common grounds, they can be greatly influential in the world.”
He also said that Muslim scholars ought to stand up to extremists and fanatics and fight with superstitions that have nothing to do with Islam and the holy Quran.
Also speaking at the conference were Hezbollah representative Ali Jabir, representative of Iraq’s Hajj mission Ahmad Khalaf Javad, representative of Turkey’s Hajj mission Shakur Uz Budagh as well as representatives from Hajj missions of Egypt, Pakistan and Nigeria.
