The competition was held during the month of Ramadan by Quran Radio of Lebanon which is affiliated to the country's Dar-ul-Ifta.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammad Rashid Qabbani, Mufti of Lebanon at Dar-al-Ifta in Beirut where 30 winners of the contest were awarded.
The director of the Quran Radio presented a speech at the ceremony and explained the activities and programs of the radio particularly those planned for the holy month.
The Mufti of Lebanon appreciated the efforts made by Mahir Siqal and Atif Al-Nasuli, members of the directorate of the radio for allocating the prize to the winners.
He stressed that the Quran Radio plays a great role in spreading the rich culture of Islam which aims to lead mankind from darkness to the light.
“Islam has presented the best model of civilization, development, dialogue, justice and moderation and human dignity for the world,” he stressed.
He further called Muslims to recourse to the Quranic teachings and noble values of Islam and try to introduce to the world values which encourage moderation, and discourage extremism and arrogance.
