Sahib Al-Hisnawi, Iraqi filmmaker and media activist will direct the series, Baratha news agency reported.
Al-Hisnawi said the series would be made in the Imam Hussein (AS) Cinema Town, which is being built in Karbala.
“The cinema town is a place for making serials about the life of the Holy prophet (PBUH) and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and the serial ‘Al-Hussain (AS) Tharallah’ will be the first,” he noted.
Manger of Ain At-Taer TV and Cinema Productions Company, the serial’s producer, added that models of such places as the Holy Makkah, the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina and the Kufa Mosque as well as historical bazaars will be built in the town.
He expressed hope that the series would succeed in conveying the truth of Imam Hussein’s (AS) uprising to the world.
