According to a story posted on the internet, a Russian author, Valeria Porokhova, has finished the translation of the Holy Quran. Researchers and Specialists believe that the translation is one of the best Russian translations especially that it had filled a big gap after the demise of several Russian specialists in this field.
In an interview with the translator, Porokhova said: “When I read the Quran, I felt in love with it, which made me translate it into Russian”.
She also admitted that she found a lot of difficulties, but Sheikh Ahmad Kaftaro, the former Mufti of Syria, and his son Sheikh Mahmoud Kaftaro helped her a lot thorough her work.
In her interview, she said: “ Several religious scholars helped me and supported my work. When you read the Quran until you reach its end, you have to say: there is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah”.
As for the publishing of the translation, Porokhova said: “ The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan of UAE sent the translation to the Azhar to confirm that it was precise. After receiving the confirmation, he financed the printing of 25,000 copies. So far half a million copies have been printed.
Such achievements are very significant and useful, especially when it has to do with learning and understanding the Quran, which was revealed to all people without any discrimination in color or race. Therefore such words should be praised and supported by the relevant officials, both morally and financially, to promote and strengthen the humanistic and cultural ties among all people.
