Acts and their consequences in sayings of Masoumeen

Reward for Good doing

The great Prophet(s) has stated: God will provide a mansion in the paradise for any person who will perform the following duties: the supervision of an orphan, showing mercy towards the oppressed ones, showing respect to one's parents and being amicable and tender towards one's inferiors.

The Prophet(s) has stated: Association with the religious people would bring dignity for man both here and in the Hereafter.

Imam Sadiq(s) has said: A Moslem who provides another Moslem with loans to receive later on will receive the reward of giving out for God.

Imam Sadiq(s) has said: Anybody who feeds his religious brother will receive the reward of feeding one hundred thousand people.

Imam Reza(s) has stated: Any person who prays for his religious brethren or sisters shall receive an angel who will pray for him.

God's Messenger has said: Anybody who pays a visit to a sick person shall receive blessings from God.

For detailed information concerning the reward for goodness, refer to the Holy Quran, Beharol Anwar, Thawabol A'mal and Wasa'el.

The consequences of Evil-doing:

Imam Sadiq(s) has said: Avoid being indifferent towards facts. Anybody who ignores the facts has done himself a lot of damage. Do not consider the God's commands as insignificant because anybody who does so shall be humiliated by Allah at Doom's Day.

The God's Messenger(s) has said: Anybody who shows animosity towards our Household shall be changed into a jew by God upon his arrival at the gathering-place of resurrection.

And he who prays God for a thousand years on his own without our guidance shall enter the hell.

Imam Sadiq(s) has said: Anybody who engages in the acts of trespassing over people's rights, telling lies and cutting his relations with others shall receive the consequences in this world.

Imam Sadiq(s) has said: God has made a believer out of His Glory; thus, anybody who uses sarcasm against a believer or argues with him, has in fact denied the existence of God in the Heaven. Such a person shall not enjoy communication with Allah. In his birth in this world shaitan has no doubt had some influence.

Imam Sadiq(s) has stated: Regarding a person who owns an extra house and does not let a home-less Moslem use it, God declares: O angels of Mine: I shall deny the paradise to such a cruel person.

Imam Sadiq(s) has said: Any person who tries to insult another believer and causes his dignity to be ridiculed in front of other people is cast out of God's Grace and is driven into the Shaitani's  territories.

God's Messenger has stated: when the following vices, i.e.: treason, theft, wine-drinking and usury enter a home, that home will get ruined and shall be deprived of God's Mercy.

Imam Ali(s) has stated: When God is angry against a nation, that nation shall suffer the following consequences: their goods will be expensive, their lives will be short, their trades will be losing, their fruits will not be ample, their rivers will go dry, they will be deprived of rain and they will be dominated and defeated by the aggressors.

Imam Ali(s) has said: Anybody who will not satisfy a needy Moslem's need while he can, shall be made blind by Allah at the Doon's Day and shall lose his dignity on that day. On that day he shall come to the gathering-place of resurrection while his hands are tied to his neck. Then people would say of him: This is a traitor who has performed treason against God and His Messenger(s). Then the order will be issued to put him in the Fire.”

O God. All praise is due to you who have provided us with the morning through which we could get light; all praise goes to you who have put at our disposal the means to gain our subsistence.

When we entered the morning and so did everything else, we could observe the sky and the earth and all the creatures which are scattered there including the stationary, the moving beings and all the creatures which have ascended to the heaven and those which are hidden in the earth. However, all of us are within your domination sphere.

We entered the morning light while we are encapsulated in your Power zone. Your kingdom and Might surround us and your Determination encompassed us all. We manipulate things only under your command and manage affairs only in the light of your power. We shall do nothing except for those things which you have permitted us to engage in.

This is a new day for us and shall be witness to our deeds. If we do right things it shall leave us while it admires us and if we engaged in wrong-doings it would depart us while it scolds us.”

This section of the invocation vividly reveals to us that all things and elements are dominated by God and are not independent. The Manager of affairs is the Almighty god and all the wheels are turned through His Might. It is a crime for a man to stay ignorant of God's Might and Power and to be a slave in the hands of others. Anybody who falls in the hands of others, and has not been obedient to God has demolished the house of his own personality and dignity.

Any one who falls in the power domain of others shall have his capabilities misled and shall have made a dangerous pharaoh out of himself and shall meet with the consequent tortures and shall lose the God's Grace for ever.

“O God! Send your greetings to Mohammad and his Household and let us engoy a joyous day and proteft us against getting involved in committing sins, eighter small or big; O God! On this day, increase our good things and make us devoid of the evils and fill the entire day with chances to admire and to worship you.

O God! Make easy the hardships of the generous scripts of yours who closely observe our affairs and let their records be full with our right-doings and do not betray us in front of them.”

Only in the light of faith, good deeds and behaviors is it possible to befriend with the day. In the God's workshop, milliards of wheels turn each day till the day and night are produced for us. Man should not waste these precious hours nor let the devels take advantage of him and lead him towards performing whims and wishes.

The day should be watched with the wisdom's eyes and the eyes of the conscience so that cleanliness, honesty, graces and facts could be within the reach of human being. Only in this way could a heavenly and spiritual being be produced out of us. However, if we started our days with the eyes of lust and whims we would destroy our prosperity both here and in Hereafter, and would turn ourselves into dry fire-wood to be used in the hell.

In explaining the ninth verse of the surah Ala [The Most High] in the Holy Quran which Says: “Therefore do remind, surely reminding does profit”, “Partovy az Quran” writes, “It is man himself whose capabilities and talents would remain idle if his wisdom's eyes remained closed, and if he indulged in pleasure-seeking. He would encounter a lot of pressures and sufferings if he disregarded the rules governing the nature. In his pursuit of life he would come across insurmountable hurdles and he would assume the mirages as water and the devilish acts as items of beauty. The farther he runs, the more obstacles he will encounter.

However, if his eyes opened up to the light of life and if he could observe everything with watchful eyes and could assess his internal aptitudes and could get rid of the walls around his thoughts, and if he could see himself as a small unit and constituent of the whole being, then his abilities would flourish and he could watch things around him as they are. His innate capacities then would work harmoniously and his wisdom's wings would extend beyond imagination and would start adoring God. He would then harmonize the compass of his progress with the sublime aspirations. Such a man would not consider important the obstacles on his way. He would ascend to the lofty places by means of God's attraction. He would easily pass through the colossal ocean of life and would arrive at the headspring of God's Divine names.”

Spend some hours of the day on purchasing things but in your bargains take note of legal and illegal ways of the trade. Such a rightful bargain is considered as worship to God and is valued even more significant than worshipping Him.

Imam Sadiq(s) narrates from the great Prophet of Islam who has said: Anybody who would like to take part in a bargain should guard against five traits: usury, swearing, the concealment of the flaws in the merchandise, praising the selling item at the time of selling and trying to lower the price of the item by mentioning its flaws at the time of buying.

In the honorable Kafi it is narrated from Imam Sadiq(s) who narrates from the God's Messenger having told a man who was selling dates:

“Aren't you aware of the fact that anybody who uses deception in his transaction is not one of the Moslems?”(  Kafi, Vol.5, P 160.).

Spend some time of the day in solving people's problems, visiting sick people, meeting other Moslems, reciting the Holy Quran, performing religious obligations and making friends with the good ones.
