Allama Nasir Abbas Jafri, secretary general of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen has announced that his party would contest general elections 2013 from entire Pakistan. “We shall defeat takfiri terrorists and fanatics by the power of ballot,” he vowed speaking at the largely-attended Quran-O-Ahl-e-Bait (AS) Conference in Hyderabad on Sunday.
Thousands of people attended the conference, sort of a public meeting on Hyderabad Bypass. Shia Muslims, including youths, women and children from all parts of Sindh province including its capital Karachi thronged the ground.
Amid the slogans of Labbaik Ya Hussain (AS) and Labbaik Ya Mahdi (AS), the MWM’s chief said that Shia Muslims and their allied moderate Sunnis of Pakistan enjoy huge vote-bank. “We shall use our power of huge vote-bank to defeat the enemies of Islam and Pakistan,” he vowed.
He said that the MWM will field candidates from all over Pakistan. He said that the MWM together with the Sunni Ittehad Council and Sunni Tehrik would defeat the terrorists who are stooges of the U.S., Zionists and Saudi Arabia. “We are the first defence line of Pakistan. Pakistan is our motherland and we shall continue to make sacrifices for the sake of Pakistan,” he vowed.
Senior religious scholar Allama Haider Ali Javadi said that people of Pakistan are thankful to Imam Khomeini, Imam Khamenei and Allama Arif Hussaini for the fact that they created awareness among the masses of the plots of the enemies of Islamic and Ummah.
He said the said leaders taught how to counter the U.S. and Zionists-sponsored oppression and suppression of downtrodden and disadvantaged people. “Shia Muslims are true Pakistan and they have built Pakistan with their bloods, sweats and wealth,” he asserted vowing that the Shia Muslims would continue to play their constructive role for the betterment of Pakistan and Pakistanis.
Allama Hassan Zafar Naqvi, central spokesman, Allama Amin Shaheedi, deputy secretary general, Allama Mukhtar Imami, secretary general Sindh chapter, Allama Ahmed Iqbal, Punjab chapter leader of the MWM and office bearers of Hyderabad and Karachi chapter of the party also spoke.
Thousands of the supporters remain present there despite the scorching heat. They fluttered the MWM flags and raised slogans expressing their support to Allama Nasir Abbas Jafri and his MWM throughout the conference.
