Top Iranian, Nigerian Clerics Discuss Islamic Awakening Wave

Senior Iranian cleric Ayatollah Hossein Nouri Hamedani and visiting Nigerian cleric Ibrahim Zakzaky, in a meeting in the holy city of Qom on Saturday, discussed the Islamic awakening movement in the African country.

In the meeting, Zakzaky pointed to the continuation of the Islamic movement founded by the late Imam Khomeini in Iran, and said, "Like the movement led by Imam Khomeini, we are moving toward the awakening of nations."

He also emphasized the necessity of countering Islam's enemies, and said the best element of Muslim nations' awakening is their vigilance against plots hatched by enemies.

The senior cleric went on to say that the Muslims in Nigeria intend to convey the message of Islamic awakening movement in the country to other Muslims nations across the world to help them defeat their enemies.

He also commented on the Islamic awakening wave in Nigeria, saying, "The Islamic awaking movement has been formed in Nigeria and large groups of people are being invited to Islam and awakened (in the country)."
