Houthi Leader: Yemeni people ultimately win bcz. they subjected to injustice and fighting a war for independence

hlul Bayt News Agency - Leader of the Houthi group in Yemen, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, says the enemy of the Yemeni people will ultimately lose as Saudi Arabia continues to hit the country with deadly military strikes.

The people of Yemen will ultimately win because they are being subjected to injustice and are fighting a war for independence, he said in a speech on Sunday.

He described the Yemeni people’s fighting against the aggressors as legitimate defense.

The leader of the Ansarullah movement also called on the Yemeni people to do all they can in the “great battle,” expressing confidence that they will emerge victorious.

The Houthi movement’s leader referred to recent developments in the southern Yemeni city of Aden and the Western media propaganda that al-Qaeda militants and the ones loyal to the fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, have made progress in the city.

He further suggested that achievements made by the Saudis are temporary.

The enemy spent billions of dollars and conducted hundreds of strikes in Aden to gain very limited achievements and be pulled into a quagmire instead, the Houthi leader said.

“What remains is the steadfastness of the people.”

The head of the Yemeni Houthi movement said that the aggressors are trying to use the short-lived developments in Aden to cover up their losses.

Houthi further noted that the aggressors fabricate misleading justification for their attacks in order to gain ground in the Arab World’s poorest country.

The Saudis have targeted the livelihoods of the people and are committing genocide, which is indicative of their evil nature, he said, adding, the Saudis seek to humiliate the Yemenis and tear the country apart.

It is “silly” that the aggressors claim they seek legitimacy in Yemen as they have never respected Yemen and always wanted Yemeni officials to be submissive to them, he stressed.

Saudis do not care for the Yemenis and they just want to please Americans to win their support in the international arena, Houthi added.

The Saudi officials are “intervening in a matter that does not concern” them Houthi said, describing as “laughable” their claims of support for the Yemenis.

The people will sacrifice their lives for the sake of the independence of, he noted.

Saudi Arabia began its military aggression against Yemen on March 26 – without a UN mandate – in a bid to undermine the Houthi movement and to restore power to Hadi, an ally of Riyadh.

The incessant bombardments have caused severe shortages in basic necessities in the impoverished state.

According to the United Nations, the conflict has killed nearly 4,000 people, about half of them civilians, while 80 percent of the population is in dire need of aid.
