The Friday prayers sermons and religious teachings are planned to be presented in sign language in mosques in Msila province of Algeria.
The sign language experts will be present at mosques during Friday prayers following an agreement signed between the Office of Endowments and Religious Affairs and the Social Activities Department of the province.
The agreement was signed at "Ali ibn Abi-Talib (AS)” Mosque under the supervision of Muhammad Isaa, Algeria’s Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs.
The experts will be present besides the Friday prayer leaders, imams of mosques and teachers of religious courses to help those with hearing disabilities get the messages presented.
The Endowments Office of the province announced that many of the hearing-impaired are not willing to take part in religious programs because they don’t understand what is being said.
Thus, the decision was made to provide this group of the citizens with some facilities and get the mosques ready to host them.
The plan is to be implemented all over the North African country in the near future.
