(AhlulBayt News Agency) - A group of scholars from Al-Azhar University met with Sheikh Mahdi al-Karbalayi, custodian of Imam Hussain (as) shrine in the city of Karbala on Tuesday, January 30.
During the meeting, representative of Grand Ayatollah Sistani in Karbala Sheikh Mahdi al-Karbalayi asserted, "It matters to us that our Egyptian brothers become aware of the present situation and realities of Iraq; we ask this group of scholars to freely visit any place or city in Iraq and talk with Iraqi citizens from different walks of life and ethnicities since all the realities of Iraqi society are not reflected in media broadcasts as some of them are propagating against our nation."
He added, "We expect Al-Azhar delegation to inform other nations, policy makers and intellectuals about the real conditions of Iraq."

The Egyptian delegation expressed happiness over visiting Imam Hussain (as) shrine in Karbala and the real situation in Iraq. They also asserted that many of the things that were previously propagated by the media became clear to them."
