According to El Mundo Newspaper, Madrid Municipality has assigned 10,000 square meters of this cemetery, which is located in the south of Madrid and owned by Catholics to Muslims.
200,000 Muslims live in Madrid which is the majority of Muslims in Spain.
Muslims society in Spain requested Madrid mayor to provide necessary measures for Muslims to hold their funeral.
In the wake of this request some of the funeral rules have been changed.
