AhlulBayt News Agency - The killing of a Shiite lawyer in Pakistan's DI Khan on first day of Eid al-Fitr sparked widespread protests.
According to the police, the incident took place even though security had been tightened. This was the fifth such attack in the last few months. Always terrorists of ASWJ known as Sipah-e-Sahabah of Pakistan take responsibility for the targeting Shiite people. They call Shia Muslims as infidel.
An official reported unidentified people on a motorbike, gunned down Advocate Shahid Abbas Shirazi near Wensam College in DI Khan. The incident triggered widespread protests and aerial firing. An official, who requested anonymity, said the culprits had managed to victimise a well-known figure from the Shia community.
Locals said the killing triggered a protest – people took to the streets against the district administration. The locals also closed their shops.
The angry protesters including women and children staged the protest at Multan Road and chanted slogans against the provisional government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the protesters are demanding the justice for martyr and the arrest of takfiri terrorists.
Imamia Students Organization (ISO) Pakistan and Head of Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jaffri strongly condemned the target killing of advocate Shahid Abbas Shiazi in Dera Ismail Khan at the hands of Takfiri terrorists. In a statement issued from the media, he said that terrorists made ‘builder of the nation’ Shahid Abbas Shirazi advocate a victim on Eid day. Incidents of terrorism are still continue in Dera Ismail Khan. When will government, judiciary and law enforcing agencies will take into action.
Martyr Shahid Shirazi was member of Supreme Council (Rukn-e-Nizarat) of ISO and was a sympathizer of MWM.
However, the roads blocked in protest were reopened after successful negotiations between protesters and Minister for Revenue Ali Amin Gandapur, DI Khan DPO Yasir Khan Afridi, officers of the armed forces and civil society members.
