- The second edition of “Imam Baqir (A)” international festival will be organized by the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (A) holy shrine in Karbala, Iraq.
According to Al-Kafeel website, the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Section of the Astan will hold the festival on July 14 and 15.
Seyyed Aqeel Abdul Hussein Al-Yasiri, member of the organizing committee of the festival and deputy of the section, said that several sessions have been held on optimal organization of the international event, which aims to better introduce the character of the fifth infallible Imam (A).
He added that Imam Baqir (A) defended Islam and clarified its noble teachings during the reign of Umayyad rulers when the true Islam was misrepresented.
"It is the responsibility of such programs’ organizers to highlight the influential role of the Infallible (A) in conveying the message of God to various generations,” he added.
