Is it allowed to play flute when commemorating dead persons? The Grand Ayatollah Shahroodi’s answer

The Grand Ayatollah Shahroodi answered a question about playing flute (pipe) when commemorating dead persons.

Question: At this time a custom emerging that in the 3rd, 7th, and 40th day after the death of a person, in addition to eulogies, and speeches, flute (pipe) is used to play sad music, and people cry. This happens sometimes in the Mosque, and in Hossaynia, and sometimes in the cemetery. Is this (playing pipe) allowed in the mentioned places or not?
