-- Promotion of religious dialogue should be pursued as a means for strengthening the country’s spiritual strength, Iranian Cultural Attaché in Spain told IQNA.
Amir Purpezeshk, who is in Tehran attending the 8th congress of cultural attachés, noted that many of the major activities conducted by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) and the Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought aim to develop religious dialogue.
Referring to the theme of the congress, “spiritual strength, cultural front”, he said that the main way for promoting spirituality is through cultural activities.
He said that the congress aims to evaluate past cultural strategies and work out new and precise strategies for cultural activities in other countries.
In other countries, we have a lot to present in the cultural arena both to scholars and thinkers and to the rest of the people, Mr. Purpezeshk said. Even in countries where we have problems politically, we can change unfounded political attitudes [towards Iran] through cultural planning.
Pointing to the responsibilities of cultural attachés, he said Iran’s cultural attachés in other countries are directly faced with the cultural warfare.
“They carry cultural messages for the public in other countries. They ought to properly clarify the facts about our religious teachings and the Islamic Revolution and rectify misconceptions and misunderstandings,” he went on to say.
The 8th congress of Iranian cultural attachés started Monday, March 1, and will be running until Monday March 8.
