Celebrations and Fasting After Ramadan

After Ramadan, the Muslims celebrate the Shawwal on the 10th month of the Islamic calendar. The Shawwal begins with the Eid-ul-Fitr. The Muslims usually observe a fast during the Shawwal except on the day when the Eid-ul-Fitr starts. This is because fasting on the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr is prohibited in Islam.

In Islam, it is believed that you may be rewarded 10 times if you perform a good deed. So, fasting 6 days after Ramadan (except on the Eid-ul-Fitr) and around 30 days during the festival is considered to bring good luck and prosperity to all Muslims. However, there’s no rule that you’ll have to fast continuously for 6 days; you may observe the fast one day at a time.
