World Shia Leader urges confronting enemies based on Quran’s teachings

World Shia Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, made the remarks in a Quran reciting session held on the occasion of the beginning of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

A number of leading reciters of Quran read some verses of the holy book in the presence of the Supreme Leader.

“Based on the Quranic teachings, Muslims should be tough and impervious to enemies and kind and flexible to their friends,” stressed Ayatollah Khamenei.

He affirmed, “personal interests and intentions as well as power and the love for money would never stop those who are familiar with the true meaning of the Quranic teachings from living based on its instructions.”

The supreme leader also said that those who had understood the true message of Quran’s teachings "would never act in a way which would lead to damaging the national unity."

The evening prayers were led by Ayatollah Khamenei at the end of the Quran reciting session.
