 - Seyyed Morteza Nikzad, managing director of Roshandelan (the blind) Cultural-Quranic Foundation, said the conference was held on February 3-8, 2013 in Istanbul, Turkey.

“At the opening ceremony was attended by delegations from 12 countries as well as Turkish officials, I presented a report on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Quranic sciences,” he said.

Nikzad noted that the conference had three specialized committees in all of which the Islamic Republic of Iran had representatives.

It was decided at the conference that a non-governmental international organization named ‘The International Organization of Braille Quran Services’ be established, he stated.

Managing director of Roshandelan Cultural-Quranic Foundation added that the organization will create the required structure for spreading Quranic education for the visually-impaired via the internet.

The conference resolved to set up a committee consisting of seven members to establish an internal structure, develop an action plan and strategy, and implement the resolutions of the conference.

He went on to say that the conference decided to work towards a unified Braille Quran code in different Muslim countries.
