Falaq Tawashih (religious song) Group also performed some Quranic songs for the audience among whom were Iran's Hajj Chief Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammadi Reyshahri and a number of Hajj officials.
During the event a statement on the late Quran activist and muezzin Master Hossien Sobhdel, issued by the Iranian Quranic delegation to the Major Hajj which consists of 32 reciters and Quran memorizers, was read out.
Master Hossein Sobhdel, one of Iran's leading muezzins and Quran activist, who gained fame for his beautiful Adhan (call to prayer) performed and aired in the beginning of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, died at his home in Tehran on Wednesday, November 4 of lung infections at the age of 78.
