A House in London Becomes Shiite Religious Site

Ahlul Bayt News Agency -ABNA- I had been invited to a Qadr ceremony since a week ago when I got a SMS from Haj Hashem Noorzadeh, an Afghan immigrant who lives in London. By entering the house I faced with lots of spirituality scenes, so this idea came to my mind that it would be great if I make a report for Ahlul Bayt News Agency; because this place is not just home of Noorzadeh family, but also it belongs to Ahlul Bayt (AS). In fact, there is a Hussainiyah at the heart of a residential house which brings Shiites together over the years for holding their ceremonies.

And tonight an enthusiastic group of Shiites and lovers of Imam Ali (AS) gathered here to hold special ceremony of Qadr's night.

The ceremony started with recitation of one part of holy Quran, and then the audience listened to the spiritual words of Hujjatulislam Mesbah. The preacher spoke of Imam Ali's virtuous and called Shiites to understand more about Imam Ali; finally he ended his words by saying that the love of Ali (AS) will complete your faith and will guarantee your heaven.

After evening prayer and fast breaking, the ceremony of reading Dua al-Iftitah and other Duas for the Qadr nights performed by Doctor Mesbah Zadeh, a Professor at Islamic College of London, and then Quran's special ceremony (holding Quran on the head) started by Ayatollah Doctor Sayyed Fadhel Milani.

At the end of the ceremony I had an earnest conversation with Mr. Noorzadeh and at that time I found that this ceremony is not the only ceremony that they hold in the house.

Mr. Noorzadeh told me that his late father, Haj Qurban Ali Noorzadeh, from 1967, about the same years he moved to England, used all his efforts to spread the Shiite culture. Haj Qurban Ali has died several years ago, but his family and specially his son walk in the way of their Father.

Mr. Noorzadeh says: "We changed part of the yard to the Hussainiyah with its traditional style, and connected that to the main building to be a place for our different ceremonies that we have during the year."

"Here, we held nearly all the religious festivals and mourning ceremonies, especially during Ramadan and Muharram; and Shiite Muslims from any nationality, including Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan and other nations come here to benefit from programs," he also added.
