Sheikh Isa Qassim can boost national reconciliation in Bahrain: Senior Cleric

Sheikh Isa Qassim can play a constructive role in national reconciliation inside Bahrain, senior Iranian cleric Ayatollah Mehdi Hadavi Tehrani said. 

The cleric urged the Bahrain government to use Sheikh Isa Qassim popularity as a tool to boost national unity in the Persian Gulf country.

If Bahrain crisis is not managed well, it will become the epicenter of longstanding crisis in the region, he added.

Hadavi criticized stripping nationality from Sheikh Isa Qassim, adding that liberation of Bahraini political activist Sheikh Ali Salman will strengthen national unity in Bahrain.

Undoubtedly, moderate clerics like Sheikh Isa Qassim and Sheikh Ali Salman can play a constructive role in controlling the Bahrain crisis, he noted.
