Int'l Confab on Religion, Coexistence to Start Today in Tehran

-- A 2-day international conference entitled 'Religion and Peaceful Coexistence' kicks off today in the Iranian capital of Tehran.

Religious education in the modern era, religious teaching and international law, minority rights and peaceful coexistence, religion and international challenges, and international relations and the roles of religions are among the most important subjects to be addressed at the conference.

 

According to Nayyereh Abiat, executive secretary of the conference, specialized sessions to discuss social, political, educational and legal topics are also planned on the sidelines of the event.

 

Organized by Tehran University in partnership with UNESCO's National Commission in Iran, Ministry of Education and the Iran's Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the conference will be attended by scholars and intellectuals from Iran and a number of other countries such as Japan, Germany, Norway, India and Singapore.
