-- Ahmed Naseem, member of Maldives’ Fiqh Academy, has said that there are very good Dhivehi translations of Holy Quran by private scholars.
Speaking in a press conference by the Islamic Ministry, Naseem said that there is a good translation by Sheikh Aboobarkuru Ibrahim as well. He also said that he has obtained a copy and is now analyzing the translation.
State Minister, Mohamed Shameem Ali Saeed also said that Adhaalath Party had translated 20 of the 30 chapters in Holy Quran. The work was done not only by the scholars who were members of the Adhaalath Party but by those scholars who were nationally prominent as well, he noted. He also said that the Adhaalath party was assisted by Naseem himself, by Dr. Abdul Sattar, a PHD holder on Quranic studies, and by Sheikh Ali Zahir, among others.
In addition, Sheikh Ismail Mohamed, a man worthy of being called the “Sheikh of the Sheikhs” has compiled a book containing the translations of the Holy Quran along with the “tafseer”, the elaboration of what the verses religiously mean and the background and the context of the versus.
Sheikh Naseem also said that the rich in the society need to assist the scholars to help them to print those publications. He also said that if that assistance was available, more scholars would be inspired to work more on such projects.
State Minister also said that a well-wisher had contributed MRF 100,000 recently to assist the Ministry in its religious awareness programs and thanked for the assistance. He also said that the benefits of such assistance would be forthcoming in the world and in the Day of Judgment.
