The Day of Arafah is for Imam Hussein (as). This ceremony is light; that is- we must hope that God will certainly forgive our sins, we must hope that crying for Imam Hussein will erase our sins.

أنَّ أَرْبَعَةَ آلاَ فِ مَلَكٍ شُعْثاً غُبْراً يَبْكُونَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ

Imam Sadiq (as) states: four thousand anguished and grief‑stricken angels weep for Imam Hussein up to the Day of Judgment

The greatness of Imam Hussein is so magnificent that heavens and earth wept, cursed his killer. When the commander of the faithful, Imam Ali (as) saw him, he would say: O my father and mother be sacrificed for you.

God ordered to ask him, we must never say that God knows everything, why should we ask him? because God loves our talking, our voice, our supplication; this is alone a sort of worship; in fact, investing one's voice, tongue, heart is a precious act of worship.
